At the Colorado Mammoth's shootaround on Saturday, Dec. 22, Brad Self, transition player and Youth Lacrosse Development Manager for the Mammoth, along with Rod and Ben Allison, Executive Director and Program Director of Denver City Lax, teamed-up for a big surprise.
Thanks to Warrior, who donated brand-new lacrosse gear, the Mammoth and Denver City Lax surprised four youth lacrosse players, two boys and two girls, with bags full of lacrosse gear for their upcoming season.
The Mammoth's Youth Lacrosse Development department leads youth lacrosse clinics and camps, school clinics, youth lacrosse tournaments and Mammoth game fan experiences, all with the goal of making lacrosse accessible to everyone and growing the sport across Colorado.
Denver City Lax operates year-round and uses lacrosse combined with access to educational and enrichment activities to assist at-risk youth in succeeding in sports, in school and in the community. Lacrosse is the centerpiece, with a focus on youth development and leadership training.
Sunday, Jan. 6., is the Mammoth’s inaugural Celebrate the Game day. During the game’s halftime on Sunday, the Mammoth will celebrate the growth of lacrosse in Colorado by honoring youth lacrosse championship teams in the 2018 Parade of Champions. Tickets are still available at AltitudeTickets.com.
