Mammoth Open Practice on Saturday, Dec. 1

Thirty-six players will take the turf in search of a spot on the 21-man active roster.


The Colorado Mammoth have opened practice to the public on Saturday, Dec. 1. from 7-9 p.m. at Foothills Fieldhouse located at 3606 S Independence St, Denver, CO 80235.

This Friday-Sunday, the Mammoth will hold the first of two 2018-19 training camp weekends in which the organization will narrow the field of 36 players to a final 21-man active roster and four-player practice squad.

Notably, this weekend marks veteran defenseman Dan Coates’ return to the turf. The 2016-17 Mammoth Captain sat out the 2017-18 season with an ACL injury.

This weekend also marks the inaugural training camp for Defensive Coordinator Andrew McBride and Offensive Coordinator Shawn Williams who will join third-year Head Coach Pat Coyle behind the Mammoth bench for the 2018-19 season.

The Mammoth’s 17th season will begin on Saturday, Dec. 22 at Pepsi Center as the Mammoth face off for the first time against Western Division newcomers, the San Diego Seals, at 7 p.m. MT. During their home opener, the Mammoth will ring in the holidays with their second annual Teddy Bear Toss.
