WESTERVELT’S ‘LACROSSE OUT’ BREAST CANCER JERSEY BENEFITING BARBELLS FOR BOOBS
The National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health states that about one out of every eight women born today will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some time during her life. For Mammoth forward Drew Westervelt, a relative of his was one of those women.
“I lost my grandmother to breast cancer,” said the Maryland native.
Westervelt, whose 15 goals this season are sixth-most in the NLL, will don the pink ribbon on his chest on ‘Lacrosse Out Cancer’ Night on March 8. Net proceeds from his jersey auction will benefit Barbells for Boobs, a non-profit organization that provides funding to pay for breast cancer detection services as a last resort for thousands of people who don't qualify for assistance elsewhere. Its aim is to help anyone that needs it, anywhere, whether they are male or female, no matter what their age or situation in life.
The 24-hour auction is now live on eBay. To view the auction, click here or search for keywords “Mammoth Lacrosse Out Cancer”. The auction ends this Wed., Feb. 5 at 2:30pm MT.
