Jeff Wittig voted 2019 Fan Choice Award Winner

4/29/2019

Jeff Wittig, the Mammoth’s 2019 Fan Choice Award winner, made his mark on the turf in the 2018-19 regular season as a fearless, physical and, yes, sometimes downright "dirty" scorer. In eight games played, the left-handed forward scored eight goals, most of them highlight-reel worthy, and added 13 assists for a total of 21 points; and this is just his rookie season. The Mammoth signed the 21-year-old as a free agent in September 2018.

Before Wittig became a professional box lacrosse player, the St. Catharines, ON native spent five seasons playing in the Ontario Junior “A” Lacrosse League. Two of Wittig’s teammates, Dan Coates and Ian Llord, are also former A’s.

After completing Mammoth training camp in Fall 2018, Wittig became a part of the Mammoth team as a practice player, at first. His debut on the active roster finally came on March 9: Colorado Night. In his first career game, Wittig tallied two goals against the San Diego Seals and added two helpers for a total of four points.

To see more of 2019 Fan Choice Award winner Jeff Wittig, fans can live-stream the NLL Western Division Semifinal game this Friday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. MT on Bleacher Report Live. The fourth-seeded Colorado Mammoth will take on the top-seeded Saskatchewan Rush at SaskTel Centre.
