Holding to San Diego, Sweeting to Buffalo in NLL Expansion Draft

Monday, July 16, in the 2018 NLL Expansion Draft, the San Diego Seals selected defensemen Cameron Holding and Bryce Sweeting from the Colorado Mammoth.

San Diego selected Cameron Holding in the fourth round, eighth overall.

Holding, Assistant Captain in the 2016 and 2017 seasons, played for the Mammoth for six seasons, having been signed as a free agent prior to the 2012 season. Holding was placed on the Mammoth’s physically unable to perform list in the 2018 season due to an ACL injury.

San Diego selected Bryce Sweeting in the fifth round, 10th overall, then traded Sweeting to the Buffalo Bandits in exchange for defenseman Ethan Schott and a second-round pick (17th overall) in the 2018-19 NLL Entry Draft.

Sweeting played for the Mammoth for three seasons, having been Colorado’s first selection in the 2015-16 NLL Entry Draft (fourth round, 32nd overall).

On Monday, the Philadelphia Wings made the first selection overall in the NLL Expansion Draft. The draft was comprised of nine rounds. Eighteen players were selected, with a maximum of two players selected from each team.
