This Saturday, April 14, the Mammoth (10-6) hosts the New England Black Wolves (7-8) for a rematch.
The Mammoth enters week 19 after stumbling in an 11-8 loss to the top overall seed in the NLL, the Saskatchewan Rush. Oppositely, the Black Wolves are traveling to Denver after a 13-12 overtime win against the Calgary Roughnecks.
The Mammoth and Black Wolves have met once this season, eight weeks ago, at the Mohegan Sun Arena, where the Mammoth won 19-11.
Lacrosse Out Cancer Night
Along with hosting the Black Wolves on April 14, the Mammoth is hosting its ninth annual Lacrosse Out Cancer Night presented by Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children.
Through its month of Lacrosse Out Cancer initiatives, the Mammoth seeks to raise awareness about the struggles cancer patients face and to raise funds to find a cure.
During Lacrosse Out Cancer night, the Mammoth celebrates those who battle cancer bravely, as well as medical caregivers, families of patients and other advocates who work to cross out cancer.
Exciting Lacrosse Out Cancer Highlights
Mammoth Uniforms: Mammoth players will be decked out in their Lacrosse Out Cancer lavender! Players will dress in their fan-personalized “I’m Playing For” jerseys. They will also wear helmets with headwraps created by pediatric patients at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children.
Silent Auction: Fans can help the Mammoth raise funds to cross out cancer through participating in the team’s silent auction. Beginning Thursday, April 12, The Mammoth will auction off players’ Lacrosse Out Cancer shorts, helmets and gloves online. Fans can participate by visiting Mammoth.Gesture.com or by texting “Mammoth” to 52182. The auction will close at the end of halftime on Saturday, April 14. All auction proceeds will go to local non-profits that fight cancer daily.
Halftime Ceremony: Saturday, the Mammoth will include fans in a special ceremony at halftime for pediatric patients, their families and their caregivers at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children. The ceremony will include a video about the bond Mammoth players and kids at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children have formed during hospital visits and fun events throughout the last month.
Lacrosse Out Cancer Tee Shirts: The Item of the Game on Saturday is a Lacrosse Out Cancer tee shirt that fans can personalize with the name of someone for whom they want to cross out cancer.
