The National Lacrosse League today announced that defenseman Joey Cupido and goaltender Dillon Ward have been named 2018 NLL All-Pros.
Cupido, as the 2018 NLL Transition Player of the Year, has been named a First Team All-Pro. The seven-year Mammoth veteran previously received both honors in 2015.
Last season, ‘Lightning’ tied the career-high for regular-season goals that he set in 2015 (16). He also set a new career-high and co-led the league in shorthanded goals (5). And, for the first time in his career, Cupido scored two game winning goals, co-leading the league’s defensemen as well as the Mammoth team.
Goaltender Dillon Ward has been named a Second Team All-Pro, making him a three-time All-Pro selection. ‘The Wall’ bested his own single-season franchise record for saves in a season (645), finishing 2018 with the third best save percentage in the league among starting goaltenders (0.781%). Ward also set a career-high for regular-season minutes played between the pipes (981:41) and for regular-season wins (10).
