Smith was acquired by the Mammoth on September 7, 2011, along with defenseman Jon Sullivan and forward Sean Pollock from the Minnesota Swarm in exchange for the Mammoth’s 3rd overall pick in the 2011 dispersal draft of Boston players…Spent the 2011 season with the Swarm after being selected 4th overall in the 2010 Orlando Titans dispersal draft…During the 2011 season, Smith gathered 60 loose balls and tallied two assists in 15 games with the Swarm…While playing for the Orlando Titans in 2010, Smith recorded one assist, gathered 35 loose balls, and registered a team-high 104 PIM in 14 games…Began his rookie season with the New York Titans, after being drafted 17th overall in the 2007 NLL Entry Draft…Won gold at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships for Team Canada in May, 2011…Played in 13 games with the New Westminster Salmonbellies of the Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) during the 2010 season… Before entering the NLL, Smith played the 2007 season with the Brampton Excelsiors of the Ontario Junior “A” Lacrosse League…Was named the Most Valuable Defensive Player in the Ontario Junior “B” Lacrosse League during the 2006 season…A former professional hockey player in the IHL, the Mimico, Ontario native attended York University in Toronto.
