"The MammothÂ’s 40-man training camp roster will practice during the times given below and all sessions are open to the public and media and free of charge."

Steve,

Just out of curiosity, are they running drills or is it a makeshift scrimmage or both?

There is always a mixture of drills and scrimmaging.

We try to scrimmage as much as we can to get a feel for whether a player can play at this level. We also try to see what players have chemistry together, who can mesh with others, who makes good decisions, and generally how guys react in game situations at this speed.

Usually the first camp is an opportunity to see as many players as we can in a short period of time, the best way to do that is by simulating game situations.
