Well it sounds like we have one Sunday (Kitten) on maybe Sunday (Scott) one 2 Sat. (Jake and Voodoo). I vote for a big fat cancel this week. I know I can use some healing and with Ronin "the wrecking machine" running around unteathered a few others do too. So lets can this week, heal up and go hard next week.

Sorry. One on one isn't fun when you are the goalie.

I don't need a goalie (we all know how well I shoot on net :P ). I definitely need the practice though. Especially since I was goaded into the mini-lax tournament. 8)

Catch and wall ball are your best friends. Just cause I won't be there doesn't mean you can't play with ghost. Just work on catching and passing on the move. Try working on catching with the stick more vertical as well.

We're still trying to find a good place near us to play wall ball as our house does not have a good wall for it. Nor is our backyard conducive to catch. We'll have to check out a couple of the local elementaries so something though b/c we know the local parks are hit and miss. It's just fun to play in a group. When it's just Ghost and I, incorrect form and bad habits are developed.

Okay, so everyone doesn't think I'm a complete monster....

I helped 3 little sparrows that fell/were blown form their nest during the rainstorm Tuesday. They were huddled behind a garbage can at work. A co-worker and I wrapped some plastic around a box and gave them shelter. I gave them bread crumbs for the next 3 days and yesterday, I helped the last one fly off into the trees with it's parents.

There. I'm a bastard with a heart of brass.

Just don't try to get by me....or I will cut you.

Hey now! There was never much contact and when there was, it wasn't (too) near any vital places.

It's just an intimidation thing...much like a monkey showing teeth or Mancub eyeballing you and saying "You look real pretty tonight, boy."

Now, I'm nothing but a CU anthropology student, so I'm probably full of it, but doesn't a monkey baring teeth show submission? I'm pretty sure that's what I learned, but again, my professor was probably a little high when she said that. ;-)

Shoot that teacher.

Grinning, or pulling the lip up to show the teeth, may seem like a smile to us. But for monkeys this is a sign of aggression or anger, because biting is one way monkeys fight and defend themselves. Other signs of aggression include head bobbing, yawning (again, to show the teeth), and jerking the head and shoulders forward.

Yup, that's always been one of the lingering questions in my mind. Almost every animal on the planet uses the barring of teeth as a threat and a warning... yet we *** sapiens use it to denote exactly the opposite. I've always wondered what caused that leap.

Anyhow, thanks for cancelling. I need the weekend, very busy.

I found several different sources, all saying fear, aggression, and submission. So it looks like we're all right. Either way, it's something bad.
