Thanks for the question!! Sorry it too me so long to answer, I just had to shake the cobwebs out of my keyboard, I had type in my password a few times in the login. I guess I have answered all the questions there are!! Kidding!
We are very excited to kick things off tomorrow! The roster looks fantastic and we are ready to hit the ground running against a division rival at Pepsi Center to open the season.
I would have said to watch for Joel Dalgarno's return but he pulled a muscle at practice last week and will be in the IR to start the season. We are extremely deep on with left handed offense so we should be good but woudl have liked to have seen Dally in there early!!!
We are activating Erik Martin in place of Dalgarno, and have the luxury of activating a d guy because of the depth up front. After the 3 week IR stint we will have some decisions to make as to what we do.
But EMart will be a player to watch, we really enjoy his grit in practice last week and know that he will be a thorn in the Washington offense right away, he can be a bit annoying to the other team's goal scorers!
Mac Allen will be another one to watch, he is a beast right now and is in fantastic shape and looking to be another wrecking ball on the opposing offense.
Chet Koneczny, aka Chedda Bob!! is also a player to watch, he will be doing all the little things that make a team successful, another gritty, sandpaper type player, will be all over loose balls and scrapping for every inch on the floor. Love this kid and his work ethic, he also won't be afraid to drop the mitts if necessary.
On the offensive side, we are thrilled with Jordan McBride's camp and expect big things from him this season. His maturity and development is progressing right on schedule. Look for great things "off ball" from Brider.
Most of the offense is in tact and we are really looking forward to seeing them unleashed. Jones and Linc back and another year smarter. Jones looks fantastic, no knee brace this year, faster and leaner!!
Sean Pollock will be fun to watch as the massive burden of his wife's battle with breast cancer is behind both of them. She completed all of her treatments and has received great feedback from the doctors about her progress, that only means great things for Polly and his state of mind.
Sean's good buddy from Minnesota Rich Morgan brings something to the table that we aren't quite used to here and that is massive size and great hands. He is so versatile and can play both offense and defense equally as well. Look for where Coach Hamley uses him in any number of situations. What a big left handed pick that could be for Junior.
Junior and Prouter look great and should be their usual selves, obviously, they are the core of that leadership group.
Should be fun!
Looking forward to having a great day on Saturday!!
