Mr. Govett,
I understand that not everything is in your control, like the number of home wins etc. I want to start by saying I have a great time at the games (most anyway) regardless of win/loss. However I am extremely disappointed in the Blackout Jerseys this year.
We bought an official auctioned Blackout Jersey a couple years ago. If memory serves, you had said those were going to be completely unique and would never be produced again. In fact, it was that detail that made us try so hard to acquire one of the player worn jerseys after we were unsuccessful in obtaining one of the blank ones.
Last night's jerseys, which were exactly the same as the ones that "would never be produced again" made me as a team supporter and consumer of Mammoth merchandise completely disappointed and angry. I feel that everyone who bought the previous Official Blackout Jerseys that were advertised as "Limited Editions" were now lied to.
Yes they may be from the Blackout game a couple years ago and therein limited editions, especially as most of those players are no longer playing on the team, but the ones last night were exactly the same because a pink tie instead of the white does not make it different.
In my opinion, people will be less likely to spend their hard earned money (especially in this lack luster economy) on a limited edition jersey that looks exactly like the ones from a couple years ago and are the same as the reproductions that are widely seen in the arena. I, as well as several others were very excited about the idea of another limited production jersey (including the charity aspect).
The imagination went wild with possibilities of what you guys could have done. Black w/Pink letters & numbers to support the Cancer issue. Black with gray scale logos, or alt logos. Gray scale mountains encompassing the whole of the jersey. SOMETHING DIFFERENT. Instead you chose to have the exact same thing produced. Several people I talked to after last night's game who had intended to bid on one of the "limited edition" jerseys had completely changed their minds after seeing the same old thing. Especially when many of the other teams created something completely new.
