what special things are happening this year?
another jersey?
the boards?
black turf?
blank black signs and free silver sharpes?
etc...?

or will we just have to wait?

I guess when you ask the question like that, there really isn't anything special going on.

The black out jerseys will be kept this year in their original design. We are keeping them this season and may wear them again a few times.

We will be blacking out the boards this game as well. This is a Mammoth idea that has caught on throughout the League, Edmonton has done it, Boston does it every game.

Unfortunately, the turf is here to stay for a long while, at $125,000 for black turf, however cool, is just not in the cards for us any time soon.

I guess the rest you will just have to wait and see.

:( i was really hopeing for that. i cant believe that it cost that much. thats crazy.

i think its nice that the players get to keep the jerseys this year. i know most of them were disapointed that they had to give them away last year.

thanks for the answer.

Which brings up a curious question...If money wasn't an issue and a team wanted to use a funky turf (such as a black one), would you have to get league approval for a color other than green?

I don't beleive it is written anywhere that I would have to get permission for black turf. I do beleive that common business sense would dictate that you would check in with the League to make sure it didn't pose any undue problems. I really think its a moot point as the cost far outweighs the benefits. We have plenty of other things that we could spend the money on to promote the sport, a black turf wouldn't be an intelligent investment. It would look cool though!

Mr. Govett

If and when I win Powerball, would I be permitted to purchase said Black Turf for the organization?

Moreover, if I were allowed, could I also have large orange Harley Davidson logos painted on the turf?

Thank you Sir.
