Steve,

With Chicago not playing this year, how come we did not see if Andrew Burkholder would come to play for the Mammoth. From the games I saw in 2006, he scored some key goals in that championship run. Do you think he could add something to the team? We also drafted Bill Self rated one the top players of all time...he is not on the roster? Just asking..

David, thank you for the question!

Andrew Burkholder did have a strong campaign for the Mammoth in 2006 and was a big part of our run toward the championship at the time. It was at that time that we had a shortage of left handers and Burky was a need fullfilled at the trade deadline from Rochester.

Right now we have great depth at the lefty offensive spot, Carey, Shewchuk, Gill, Rosyski and the 20 year old Potter, put us in a situation that we are very happy in and look forward to the results. In fact we feel with such depth at the front door it allows us to utilize Prossner's speed and athleticism in a transition role.

Adding another pure offensive lefty would have added a player into a mix where we have been developing chemistry since the beginning of training camp. We are very happy with our roster and didn't want to cut someone that has been committed since the first day of camp.

BRAD Self is a strong young left handed transition player that can add great depth when we need him. Brad plays professional hockey in Germany during the winter and has only been able to commit to the NLL when his hockey seasons have ended.

In fact, Brad was with us previously but was traded because his hockey was taking precedence over the Mammoth. We love him as a player and can add depth in mid march when injuries challenge the depth of a team.

I wouldn't say that Brad Self is considered one of the top players of all time, his brother Scott Self was picked up with the #2 draft spot in the dispersal draft by Edmonton so that might have caused the confusion. Again, Brad is a strong transition player that will add great depth and impact once his hockey season is complete.

Our hope for the future is that he will focus solely on lacrosse in the near future.

Steve,

Again thanks for your timely response to my questions. January 9th is coming soon. What is the chance some of the games will be on TV? Is the league working on a contract?
