Ok Steve, we need your inside knowledge on what happened here? Is Stilley coming out of retirement, moviing, change in working conditions that allow him to play more?

This was pretty simple process. Dave Stilley had moved to Denver during his Mammoth career and worked in the financial services industry for much of his time here. At one point he started his own mortgage company here in Denver. The demands of his work schedule no longer allowed him to continue to play for the Mammoth but he remained a resident of the Denver area.

In the midst of all of that he met his beautiful wife here in Denver, in fact she is a former Kroenke Sports employee, they married and have a gorgeous daughter.

In an effort to spend more time with his new family and grow his business he removed himself from the Mammoth world. However, due to the current economic conditions business didn't go as planned. Last year he moved back to Connecticut and got a new job with the same company that Jamie Hanford is working for.

He reached out to me a few weeks ago to let me know that things had changed in his life with the new job and living in Conn. that he thought he could make time to play again. Ed Comeau and I spoke and found a way to allow Dave the opportunity to try out for the NY Titans.

There was no way that Dave could make the trek from Conn to Denver to play for the Mammoth so this was an opportunity to give him the chance to reignite his career closer to his new home.

As we have said all along, the Mammoth is moving on to a new horizon and are excited by the prospects of adding new blood to our roster. I hope our faithful fans won't be dissappointed in the process. After our first weekend of camp, we feel very strongly that we have made some great decisions.

We wish Dave Stilley and his family all the best and hope that he finds himself a roster position and fulfills the void left in his life after leaving the game. Dave is a great and loyal friend, I am missing, and will miss him not being in Denver and running for the Mammoth. Hopefully he finds himself back in the friendly confines of Pepsi Center on Jan. 31 in a not so friendly environment!!!
