Good god, what is wrong with the people in this state!?!? 3 miles of 4 lane highway can come to a crawl because someone is changing a tire on the shoulder that happens to be at least 10 to 15 feet away from traffic. IÂ’m all for safety, but if someone happens to get hit under that situation, IÂ’m a firm believer that hey, youÂ’ve got a phone call waiting for you at the pearly gates.

No good rubbernecking duck $#@! sanitation napkin having swamp $#!er sasquatch lookinÂ’ $#@!$#@#!@#$!!@!!!!!!!!!!!!

AnywayÂ…how you guys doinÂ’?

You know, Having moved away from Denver I can now decidedly say that Denver traffic is singularly sucky. I live about 12 miles from my job and it takes me 15 minutes to get to work, In Denver it would take 45 minutes, All I can say is set up a cot in your cubical so you no longer have to deal with traffic.

I dunno. NYC traffic made me greatly appreciate Denver traffic. 8)

Traffic in Honolulu is really bad cause the highway system was built by Helen Keller! And L.A. traffic was the worst I've ever been in. At midnight it as bumper to bumper on a Wedsnesday night!

Darlin' you realize you have to leave the Wal-Mart parking lot first, right?

2 point for Brian for the KS reference, minus one for having to point it out. :P

Off subject, but the topic heading just fit my morning.

I went in to 7-11 this morning because I've really been craving a Java Monster. They're completely over-priced, but a 4 pack typically sells for $5.99 to $6.99. I grab their last 4 pack which is marked $5.99. Take it up to the counter, she rings me through and tells me it will be $8.20. WTF?! How's that work. Turns out that this 4 pack is actually selling for $11 and after my $3 it's on sale discount, it comes to $8.20. It's mistagged, and because there's already a $3 discount on it, she can't override the price to match what was "incorrectly tagged" on the box. So now I'm grumpy and still don't have my Java Monster.

Mrs. Kitten

How do you carry the Monsters on your motorcycle?

Are you still riding to work with the nice weather we are having?

I actually have a really nice tail bag that works really well. I've found I can fit my laptop, one or two textbooks plus a broken down 4 pack of monsters and be ok. 8)

I have not been riding very much at all this month. It would be great to ride home, but the ride in to work is a bit too cold at highway speeds, so until I get some warmer gloves and a different layer for my legs, it's better to hold off. I did ride in almost every day until a couple of weeks ago though.

There are some aftermarket heated vests, pants and gloves available. You hook up a harness straight to the battery, and then you connect the vest/pants/gloves to the harness.

I have a good pair of "gauntlet" gloves that come up over the wrists. They work good for cold weather riding. I have used them when riding in the Children's Hostpital Toy Run. I have calculated the windchill factor to be around -30 when I would leave for the Toy Run and riding down I-25 at 80 mph.

I will check the name on the gloves and forward the information to you.

Have y'all seen the vest that inflates in the event you get thrown from your bike? It has co2 cartridges that will inflate airbladders on the front and back of the vest. They are to cushion your landing.

that sounds very interesting... not sure if it's brilliant or madness!

I'm surprized I haven't heard more about these things.

Overall I stay pretty warm with my Columbia jacket/vest on under my bike jacket, but definitely need some chaps or something. My legs get pretty cold. (I rode in this morning and got so cold my joints locked a bit). And I need warmer gloves. The ones I have now are definitely for summer riding. They're a mix of leather and nylon.

Do you know if anyone makes the heated handgrips for the sportbikes? I know they make them for Harleys.

I have also used those handwarmers (that look like tea bags) inside my gloves. I think you can get them in bulk quantities at Costco or Sam's.
