We are actively considering it and it will be presented to the Board of Governors for a vote. I expect that it will pass and be put into use this coming season.

The first time people will get to see it in use is a test run during the Dec. 20 exhibition game.

Ahh, there's nothing quite like being a guinea pig.

I'm curious to see how it'll be handled.

So pretty much every goal is going to need to be reviewed, because they are all close to crease violations. I haven't read to extensively on this but what are the rules for this going to be? They can't review every play or it will turn into a baseball game in regards to the length.

i really hope they do a red flag sort of deal. that would make it posible to review goals w/out having to review every single one.

The instant replay details will be presented when the time is appropriate by the League Office.

I will tell you that it will be a challenge system with flags. Each team will be allowed to challenge once per half except the last two minutes of the game, this will fall to the responsibilities of the officials to look at any crease call that would result in a goal/no goal situation.

Balls crossing the goal line, shooter's feet in the crease, or other offensive players in the crease are among the challengeable events that we will look at on video.

Research from the past several seasons has shown us that these calls happen with a frequency of about 5 per game, the calls have shown that the official might get this wrong just less than 2 times per game. We have provided the number of challenges in response to this data. We will be reevaluating througout the season and will be watching this closely, the last thing we want to happen is to affect the flow of the game for the fans.

Fans will have the opportunity to watch the video while the official is watchign the same video so there will be lots of fan friendly "you make the call" type stuff going on in the League this year.

And yes that was me at the Nuggets game, trying to support our other Kroenke Sports teams. Go Nuggs, Go Avs!

Unfortunately, the first thought that comes to mind with any type of flag is how long before an imitation ends up on the field.

But I am a pessimist. :D

5 a game? That's more than I thought it would be. But I look forward to another year of reviewing games with my DVR just to see how accurate we can get the officials with replay.

Ok, then go to a flare gun system. Now that would get the ref's attention!
