Hi Steve
I'm excited for the Mammoth to open their season. With Gavin Prout gone & Casey Powell on the hold out list, how do you think the Mammoth will do on Saturday? Who do you think the stand out players will be? I know there is alot of new talent on the team. With John Grant Jr & Drew Westervelt back on the team, what do you see as their strongest points? Glad to see John Gallant still on the roster as well. What about our new guys? Are we going to see alot of the new guys playing then too? How do you feel about the smaller rosters? Do you think this is going to be an issue? Plus I've noticed that alot of players are opting out of playing for the NLL. What are your thoughts on that?

I'm looking forward to a great season for the Mammoth!

Go Mammoth!!!! I'll be there watching them play & win!!!!

Thanks for the question/questions!!! You might have officially exceeded your quota all at once!!!

How do I think we will do on Saturday?
Well, I think we will win, if I didn't then what are we doing this for? Seriously, I think we are prepared, we have had what I think we would all consider to be a great camp, one of the best we have ever had, and I think we are ready.

Who do I think the stand out players will be?
I have probably answered this question already but obviously, Junior is in great shape and raring to go, Adam Jones looks great, along with Westervelt and McBride. You will notice Bob Snider as we win a lot more face offs and Tye Belanger has looked fantastic in pre season. Joey Cupido is always exciting and we expect great things from Cam Holding, Dan Coates and Matt MacCleod. I guess when you look at it that way, everyone, I think everyone will standout!!!!!

What about new guys? Are we going to see a lot of new guys playing?
As I mentioned, you will like what Bob Snider brings in possessions at the face off X, Jackson Decker is a really fun player to watch, Cameron Mann is much like Cupido, really fast. Look for a really nice addition in Dan Ball to our defensive end.

How do I feel about smaller rosters? Do I think this is going to be an issue?
I am not fully sure yet how it will look, but our expectations are for more athleticism, players with versatility will be very important, the team that stays healthy and can fill in gaps on the fly will be successful. I don't see it to be a huge deal, it wasn't so long ago that we played with 16 runners and nobody saw the difference when it changed. I think the product will be as, if not more, excited.

My thoughts on players opting out of the NLL?
Too bad really, this really is the best lacrosse with the best players, ask anyone that knows anything about the game and they will tell you the NLL is the most profession form of the sport playing in front of the biggest crowds in the game. But no player, executive or coach, is bigger than the game, there is always someone waiting to take your place, so we should all enjoy it while we have the opportunity to be around, you never know when you won't have the choice anymore.

Hope that answers some of your questions.

SG
