Snider signed, Coates locked up long term, and the Mammoth cleaned out the ol' Protected Player List.

COLORADO MAMMOTH: have signed Bob Snider to a one year agreement.
COLORADO MAMMOTH: have signed Dan Coates to a five year agreement.
COLORADO MAMMOTH: have released Mike Law, Tom Ethington, Greg Peyser, Steve Forsythe, Marc Burton, Jim Moss, Sean Morris, Ray Guze, Matt Davenport, Matt Wilson, Derek Malawsky, Gary Bining and Jay Jalbert.

Now at 26 guys out of 40 maximum signed for camp. From last year's end of season roster, only Morgan, Park, Powell and Reid remain unsigned, plus Westervelt. Draft picks Ward and Weidner also have yet to be signed.

Finally clearing out the protected player list is amusing. Jalbert's last game was the championship in 2006. Mike Law hasn't played in the NLL since 2007. Tom was done in '09, Moss has been out since '07 or '08?

Funny how three time ACL recovery specialist Ken Clausen somehow disappeared though, been on PUP since 08/16/2011.

So is having only a couple extra guys in camp fighting for a handful of spots going to do any favors for this years Mammoth squad?

Reid, Dillon Ward, Park, and Westervelt all signed. Now up to 32 players for camp.

Morgan and Powell are the only ones left from the end of last season's active roster left unsigned. The Mammoth site lists Morgan, Powell, and Hawksbee (Hold Out) as guys on the current Active Roster, with Mac Allen (Injured Reserve) the only name left on the Inactive Roster.

http://www.ilindoor.com/2013/11/01/nll-free-agent-tracker-2014-updated/ The Mammoth franchised Powell, but I really don't expect him in camp, as he didn't do training camp with the K-Hawks last year either (Insert Alan Iverson practice quote here.). So I'm sure yet another breaking news announcement will be made when he's officially signed less than a week before rosters are finalized.
I really don't expect him to play more than 12-14 games this year no matter what is said with his new school gig in FL. And that's if he can stay healthy.

Now starting to get curious if the two remaining (late) draft picks Dom Sabastiani & Jake Weidner are even going to be signed for camp? Also is Prout is going to get moved, or placed on a hold out? I can imagine a couple teams out East are waiting for that stock too keep dropping.

Would be really curious to see if the team is on track to pay the luxury tax for the salary cap, lord knows they're one of the few franchises that could genuinely afford it.

Sebastiani is signed to a 1-year. But apparently I can't spell as I put his name as Sabastiani in my post for the draft picks.

Mac Allen has signed an offer sheet with Rochester. Mammoth have 72 hours to match, but I guess I don't expect them to.

As expected, the Mammoth did not match the Knighthawks offer for Mac Allen.

With two weekends of training camp complete, the Colorado Mammoth announced today that is has reduced its roster from 30 players down to 26. The team has released forward Carter Bender, transition player Dom Sebastiani and defensemen Jarett Park and Patrick O’Meara.

I had counted 30 in camp, including Powell (franchise tag), and I guess Hawksbee (who the Mammoth still list as being on the Active Roster).

Powell's signing was back on 11/22; apparently the league saw fit to edit that information into the Transactions page some time after the fact. And I don't think we'll see Hawksbee play again.

Still, the Mammoth now say they're down to 26 in camp after releasing 4. Which means somebody is still unaccounted for... Let the rumors continue!

As far as the bionic Park being cut, about time; and at least we got a future round draft pick for Rory since Bender got dropped.

At some time I fully expect Scott Evans to roll in with a Mammoth uni on just because that continues the trend of having someone the fans have hated on at some point on the roster.

Officially today:

12/11/2013
COLORADO MAMMOTH: have released Carter Bender, Jarett Park, Patrick O'Meara, Dan Lewis, Dom Sebastiani, and Cody McMahon.

As far as I know Prout is still on the roster; he's the only player from last season that was still under an existing contract coming into this season.

I've heard that of the 3Ps on Offense only one will be on this team this year.
We know Prout is done so that narrows it down some.

Yeah, Powell not playing doesn't shock me in the least. He's based in Florida and part of the reason he was traded to the Mammoth last season was due to his availability in the NLL. In the MLL he was traded to the team relocated to Florida, and World's are next summer.

Yeah not the least bit shocked with Powell, but coming 1 day before rosters are final, even though he hasn't been seen at any camps is total class.

I called this when he got his new prep school gig in FL, but he and the Mammoth were in denial about his availability (http://www.coloradomammoth.com/news/mam ... instructor) timestamp 2:10. The biggest reason the KHawks traded him away mid season was because he told them he couldn't commit to being available past the 1st round of the NLL playoffs. Playing in the NLL certainly is a LOW priority for Casey.

Edit: Prout's gone, cut, dropped, forgotten.

let the home losing streak (curse) resume.

So, I've heard about the reactions of Mammoth fans on the Facebook page regarding the Prout news. I will try and laugh about it, because otherwise I'll need to find the sturdiest brick wall in town.

I get the feeling that if rosters hadn't shrunk this season, Prout might've made the roster. But then, considering that he apparently was never seen at camps or exhibition games, who knows. Either way, there have been some tough cuts all across the league.

12/16/2013
COLORADO MAMMOTH: have released Ben McCullough, Jaedan Gastaldo, Gavin Prout.
COLORADO MAMMOTH: have placed Casey Powell, Joel Dalgarno on the Hold Out List.
COLORADO MAMMOTH: have placed Rich Morgan on the Retired List.

Other oddities: Tyacke and Shewy were among the final cuts by the Stealth, and another DU product, Eric Law, was also among their final cuts and signed to their Practice Roster.

Law ended up on Toronto's practice squad, Cam Flint made the Swarms starting roster. Also Alex Gajic got another chance with the Stealth, hopefully that means his vision has improved since the injury. Oh, and Hopcroft didn't make the Bandit's roster.

Ack, yeah, I meant Toronto for Law, just left a word or two out of there. :)
