Then to add insult to injury having a no class, coward mascot throw popcorn at you & two ladies in Mammoth jerseys without provocation then dump the rest of the bag on their heads.

Smelling like you work in a movie theatre for the rest of the night.

I hope some mascot @$$ was kicked over that.

We took the high road and didn't retaliate, again he had two ladies in Mammoth jerseys between me and another guy in a Khawks jacket. It was a little over the top, and not the first time he gave us grief in the game. The wife's definitely not happy about popcorn staining her clothes, and in her hair. We'll see what kind of response we get from Stealth mgmt. after airing our concern about how we were treated.

For a team (and a league) that needs every fan it can get, it was disheartening to be treated so poorly by a member of the organization. I've never seen or experienced something that rude (rather than funny) by any mascot at any other sporting event in the US.

Our announcer does call their best player a ^%$, repetitively, over, and over....

Why should we expect respect?

Wooly doesn't douse 'Neck fans with fire extinguishers, or pour honey on Swarm fans.

Disrespect is disrespect. I do not mean to minimize how crappy of thing that that was, but neither is mocking another player, and many minimize that all the time. But hey the crowd is fired up. My guess is at least 25% enjoyed seeing your friends mocked with popcorn.

I agree, but causing damage e.g. stains to personal property is the main issue we have.

Not to mention it is against the law. Technically criminal charges could have been brought against that mascot.

Wrestling will now join seven other sports in applying for inclusion in 2020. The others are a combined bid from baseball and softball, karate, squash, roller sports, sport climbing, wakeboarding and wushu. They will be vying for a single opening in 2020.
Wrestling more deserving than baseball or softball?

Considering it was one of the original games, yeah, I think it's a touch more deserving than any of the other sports it has to "compete" against.

WTF is 'wushu'?

Edit: Yes, it's martial arts.

They should just have martial arts as a general sport category, with different disciplines then included. It would be a helluva lot easier.

But hey, rhythmic gymnastics was nowhere near the chopping block, so that counts for something, right?

I am personally glad they eliminated rope climbing from the summer games.

To be honest, I would rather see discus, javelin, hammer toss, etc eliminated. It is really a matter of what we want the Olympics to be. Is it about "sport" that we as a society play or about athleticism. With the exception of Tennis the 1896 games were more about athleticism than sport, today it is more about applied athleticism (sport).

Just another day when it gets driven into my head that I'm just a stupid, naked, pink chimpanzee.

See, I'm OK with track and field being kept. While in modern times, being able to chuck a rock doesn't translate to real world skills, (that is until the zombies come,) it's part of where the Olympics came from.
The field games all come from about as primal of a location as can get: who can throw X the furthest; all weapons originated themes aside, that's as monkey minded dominance as it gets. So goes wrestling.
When they drop that in favor of keeping things like "speed walking" and "twirling a ribbon on a stick", I am very, very troubled.
I am well aware that regardless of it's status as a non core event that it's going to be quite a stretch for it not to beat out the other sports that it's going up against, the simple fact that it has to plead it's case every 4 years is mind boggling to me.

Except, since this is the IOC, nobody had any clue that this was going to happen, since the wrestling federation didn't have the right people in place or the right palms greased well in advance.

IOC, FIFA, NCAA. G'luck trying to sort out the order of those three on which is the most corrupt.

Finishing the month first overall in NLL fantasy only to have my (already censored) team name changed to default. Todd Akin said it first. Hoping they approve my request tochange it to cantaloupe death toll, but not holding my breath.
