Hearing that the Stealth raised over $22,000 with their Blackout cancer auction while the Mammoth despite having three times the fan base & subtantially more resources did about $5,000.

Weird. My brother is a salesman up there and he tells me that everyone is really hesitant to spend money.

This is only the third auction the Mammoth have held this year. (How many have the Stealth had? Is this their first?)

Not to mention, it was only for helmets, and not jerseys.

AND it was like 3 days auctions with no notice whatsoever.

And with 3 auctions, we have now raised how much?

$5,400.59 for these helmets (which did a lot better than I thought I would with the short notice)
$6,356.75 for the 10th Anniversary jerseys and banners

I can't even find the Langtry jerseys in the completed auctions now, and the Mammoth (in their ever-infinite wisdom ) changed their eBay username between the Langtry and 10th Anniversary auctions. So, yeah, whatever amount that was - probably another $5,000.

In short, and what the real point should be, it's no drop in the bucket, regardless of whether some other team's handful of fans shelled out a bunch of money or not.

Decent amount for 3 auctions, although this year is n abnormality as 2 of those auctions were for major milestone memorabilia.

Looking at the Stealth auction - Pink in the Rink - the team had items other than game worn jerseys and helmets to bid on. I think because the game worn items are out of reach for a lot people, our team misses getting donations from people who could afford to donate $50 or so. The Stealth had a bunch of things that were less than $100, i.e. lunches with team members.

I think the best auction we had was when we had a variety of items. Seems like anymore it's just become a side note with the team whereas before it was a really big deal. Every year it seems like we have less items to bid on.

Nope. Annoyed that I had to open something that was already posted. Some of us don't crave "thunder" and attention like others.
