From the forums:

" it is a sad day when any fan goes to a home game, expecting a loss. Is that what the Mammoth have been reduced to?

Yes. That is precisely what they've been reduced to. They are a team that loses far more than it wins, and its few wins have generally been stumblebum affairs rather than solid wins over worthy opponents.

Is it sad? Not really. As mentioned in another thread, I grew up cheering for several teams that weren't any good. Both of whom had better years behind them. Teams change. The team that wins the championship one year isn't going the be the same the next year. Players age. The ones who had a great year for the Cup suddenly aren't playing so hot. The owner and GM will try to keep talent incoming to maintain the Ws, but it's a crap shoot. As any fantasy player will tell you, there's no magic formula for finding the right combo. Sure things become duds, and not-a-chance-ers become the league hero. "

Steve, any thoughts on this? It would be great for the fans to hear from you during these really trying times for the Mammoth.

A fan posts....

"But I'm not going, I will take a break from this team....tomorrow I will look at the stat sheet and see what happened. Will this give me all the info, no of course not. Although it will give me enough to base an opinion about how the game went (ie loosies, faceoffs, SOG, etc)

Its hard to justify going to watch a team lose, when you pay for the gas from the springs, tickets in lower level, and a drink or two plus a pretzel...oh and the parking fee "

SG, as I have been a proponet for your resignation, it saddens me to read these posts....while I am critical of your past moves, some sort of response, wether it be media, news press release or something would be a great gesture in these hard times. Thanks.

I would also like to hear a reply, for a while you were very open to the fans doing some online web-chat / live meetings answering fan questions. We are in much more of a state of dis-repair now then we were when you took over as head coach, please we fans are what makes the sport go, and if you lose us then there isn't much left. Give us something please Steve! We are all die hard mammoth fans or we wouldn't be on these forums!

Mr Govett:

I just happened to read the article from ILIndoor.com, where it quoted Philadephia's Coach John Tucker addressing the fans. While you do not "owe" the fans, I do think addressing the fans is the right thing to do. According the Mile High Sports Magazine, Mammoth fans are some of the loudest and most loyal in Denver. Your connection with the fans was part of the success of the team on the field and in the seats.

Is the team doing anything over the three week break? Do you see us making a run for the playoffs? Will Calgary be playing next year? What are the plans for the future?
