Steve,

Wasn't able to make the game this weekend, but I do want to say how Thrilled I was to be able to watch the Game in HD!!!

It is absolutely amazing how much difference it makes. (not to mention you can actually see the ball!). HD was made for LAX!

I know this was brought up a while ago and I kinda remember getting an answer that the cost of on HD telecast would have eaten up the budget for the year or something along those lines.

Was just wondering has HD got that much cheaper or did KSE decided extend the broadcasting budget?

Thanks

Ok, I'm confused, because I've seen it commented upon elsewhere that our home opener was in HD. Yet, I did not see a listing in my Dish guide that the game was available in HD (it's just a filler listing for Altitude HD). Altitude.tv also does not say our games are available in HD.

Wow, I guess the trick that Altitude said they were going to use worked!!

I was told that they were going to be producing the games in what's called in their industry "virtual HD", I don't understand the technical side but do understand that the quality is better for the same price.

Call it poor man's HD, I love it and think its much better. All the bang for less buck!

This begs the question; How the heck do I get it? I am on DISH as well and do not have an HD listing, and the game I DVRed is in standard Def. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I've noticed that sometimes the alternate altitude channel doesn't get updated correctly on the digital guides. Might be worth setting a timed record for that (I think it's channel 5 or 8 on Comcast) and see if that is the game and not listed. Total shrug.

A couple people have asked,

The "Virtual HD" feed I found was on ALT Channel 681 on Directv.
