Hey Steve,
On the way in to the office on Monday, I heard a report that the AFL is in a bit of financial trouble. The report went on to say that while the Crush is doing great (no surprise given Denver's fan support in general), but the league as a whole needs help to survive.
Add to that the constant rumors about NLL teams going the way of the dodo, it makes me wonder / worry.
While I know the Mammoth are doing fine (again, Denver fans don't hurt anyone), how is your view of how the league as a whole is doing? One team cannot a league make. I'm not looking for inside scoop information, just let us know what you can. Thanks for your time as always.

Oh, and the open practice night on Friday was fun. A quick suggestion, see if one of the vendors wouldn't mind opening to serve some food. If someone was open for food... I missed it alltogether and I appologize.

I know from case studies I've read, the AFL has long been fighting financial issues. Just look at how frequently the number of teams changes from season to season, and it's typically not just 1 or 2 teams. They have huge bouts of expansion and retraction.

As a former Colorado Crush season ticket holder and active member within thier tailgate club- there are all kinds of rumors flying around that the AFL is folding and one of the biggest teams that could individually fold is the Crush. I dont want to believe the rumors because I have become friends with many of the players and thier families. Who knows what will happen with the Crush or the League but I hope that the team is preserved.

Also, since Frontier is no longer going to be in the loop, is this going to change anything?

Hope you don't mind a bit of a threadjack. We also had fun, but seeing roughly half the team in maroon and the rest in white led us to believe we'd get to witness a scrimmage game. I was kinda disappointed that didn't happen.

...sorry, just didn't think that warranted a thread of its own. :)
