Mr. Dude,
Best of luck on getting the new job.

Pay better than your current gig?

Thank you Mr. Ronin.

Could be a substantial increase.

I went to cash my paycheck at the bank where we have our corporate account, and we do not have enuff funds in the account today to cash my check. That GRINDS MY GEARS!

And if so, why haven't you gotten back to me about my glaucoma issue?

People that just freaking run out in a cross walk even though the traffic has a green freaking light and are going about 45 freaking miles an hour! WHO THE HELL DO THEY THINK THEY ARE? And no, this wasn't Boulder!

Mr. Dude-
Yes, I'm working in Boulder. I got a job at the CU faculty newspaper (which actually serves all four campuses, even if our office is in Boulder).

Mr. Ronin-
Let me talk to my doctor.

Mr. Brian-
I was just **** about that today, actually! ...But I was in Boulder.

Yup, I had "gear grinding" experience over the weekend.

Had to bond someone out of jail. Not only that, but I also paid part of their rent to keep them from being kicked to the streets.

Do you think they called to say thanks or indicate when they would repay for the bond fee or rent. FRICK NO!

On top of that, just getting into the facility to pay the bond was a pain in the ***. Had to go through the metal detectors from Hell. I tell the Metal Detector Master that I am wearing a knee brace (before I go through). Obvoiusly the detector beeps. The Wand Witch is practically waving the wand like she were Darth Vader using his light saber, and she starts wanding me (and not in a good way). I again tell her I have a knee brace on (see prior post about my 80 year old knees). She wands my knee and the wand starts going off like I hit a progressive slot machine.

The Wand Witch tells me to grab my jeans and twist it around my knee. I tell her she can feel the metal supports on the side of the brace. She says "I can't touch you". After what seemed like a life time (maybe 5 minutes) of pulling my jeans in all directions around my knee, she tells me I can go through.

Perhaps it is the look (and possibly attitude) of a BIKER that sets these people off. What do y'all think?

Hope everyone else had a nice weekend.

OK Mr. Ninja, I am ready to play the next game. Bring it on! :)

So, theyÂ’ll let nicotine addicted smoke monkeys take as many smoke breaks that their little charred lungs will allow them to, but apparently allowing someone to use Google Chat is a bit too extreme as thatÂ’s the latest round of things the firewall here at work had decided to start blocking.

I’m amazed I can get to any site that doesn’t have “irs”, “co”, or “gov” in the effing address at this point. I love this Big Brother sh!t.

Start taking 10 min breaks to just screw around everytime someone takes a smoke break. See what your manager says about that.

Hmmm... maybe you should stop using your google chat for personal reasons while at work. Your managers may not like paying you to talk about Glaucoma.

That said, I'm sorry you have such a * employer.

YeahÂ…this is the same place that for the first 5 years of my employment would call me, like clockwork, every time I had a day off due to vacation or illness to ask how to do something. I even had to drive the 40 mile round trip with a 102 degree temperature to work for 5 minutes because the issue that I had been trying to get our commercial segment to take care of for more than a month just HAD to be done the day I was out and since I have my hand in so many procedures, no one knows how to do all of my job.

I figure they still owe me for that incident alone.

Is it ok to drop a deuce and type on a forum?

So one of my badges broke and won't open doors so I need a new one. I contact the badge guy and he tells me..... "Server Lab rooms and Networking closets require different security levels and can not be put on the badge." I tell him that my current badge opens every door in the building so it can be done. His response..... "If I give you master level you can open both". :? but.... "can not be put on the badge" then the... "you can open both". ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH! How do tese people stay employed? How?

I'm going to go ahead and allow that.
It's not like someone has to deal with the sounds of you blowing the remnants of your Breakfast Sampler from IHOP out your arse as youÂ’re trying to convince them to use some sort of mobile architecture for a build if youÂ’re only typing it.

Badges? You don't need no stinkin' badges.

Mr. Ninja

I can teach you some tricks of "my culture" to get you in.

So, I've complained here before about being a receptionist at the print shop and answering calls asking to speak to "The University of Colorado." So I figured that once I left the print shop AND ceased to be a receptionist, that might stop. Alas, I just got a call to my office phone (at the newspaper) asking for "The University of Colorado at Denver."

...

Oh, and I completely agree about "Chillax."

Ask them to hold because you are speaking to "The White House" on the other line.

What does "yield" mean to you?

Does it mean:

A.) Bring your vehicle to a low speed, ready to stop if need be so the traffic with the right of way can continue on their way? Or

B.) Just drive the $#!# however you want and nearly broadside someone because you're too stupid to driver properly?!?!
