Here is the thing, we need to realize that we probably wont get J.G back. What we as fans need to do is put this behind us, to say it quickly, "get over it". We still have Moose, Ethington, Moss, Catton, Leveque, and Gill on our roster. These guys together make up a great defense.

But they don't touch Johns heart, soul, and locker room captainism. Ever notice how he was the one yelling and getting his boys fired up during the national anthem? And no I for one am not just going to get over it, he was a great player, coach, and person so I can't stand to see him go.

I guess what kills me is that Gallant told Boston before he was selected that he could not play for them. Then after he was selected he annouced that he would have to retire because he can't make so many trips back east due to his schedule. I find it sad that Gallant will not be in the league this year due to this. I don't see why he was even selected.

And for those of you willing to give a big name for him I don't see the point of that either, we don't have to give market value for a player that can only really play for our team. It would be a win/win for the Mammoth to attempt to get him back at a very low cost (future draft pick, or maybe Chris Gill (the little one, not the scorer) but not both.

And this is the fatal flaw of the NLL. Players, owners, teams should not dictate how, when, where they will play if they aren't an unrestricted free agent. Does a true draft ever take place in the NLL? The potential for fraud in this league is huge. Teams can assist in establishing players with "real" jobs and set roots in a town, which prevents them from playing anywhere else. If they are selected in one of these Mickey Mouse drafts, all they have to say if "I can't play for you" and the expansion franchise can't even ask for market value?? Until you can pay these players 40,000+ on average this crap will continue on. Don't look at this issue as a Gallant or a Mammoth fan and you'll see my point.

Call me, well whatever you want, but the fact that steve has not commented tells me that he wants JG back. Making anyform of public statement would be highly inappropriate during negotiations.
