I know that it is very early in the 2007 season, however, does the Mammoth hold open tryouts? If so, roughly when are the tryouts held?

We do not hold open tryouts. We did back in the first couple of years in Denver but we changed our philosophy and no longer host them.

A player needs to be under contract with the Mammoth in order to attend training camp. We do invite some players based on our particular needs at the time to particpate in camp.

As a well established championship team, the roster spots available are fairly limited. We usually seek out free agents that we have evaluated in order to fill those roster spots or draft picks that we have scouted for some time. Chances are that we pretty much know going into camp what we are looking for and who is going to fill the spot. There are always battles between players to secure specific roster spots because we will bring in 4 or 5 players that will compete for one or two spots at a specific position.

All of this usually takes place in late October or early November.

Thanks for the clarification Steve, I seemed to remember open tryouts at one point, so I'm glad that it wasn't a figment of my imagination.
