Hey Steve,

So I started tossing around the idea of getting a large group of Mammoth fans to attend an away game over on the wingszone boards (next year of course) to take over an opponents arena. I suggested Arizona since it would be closer but Angela with the Lumberjacks has offered to pay for our game tickets if we can make this happen. Do you think there is any possibility that next year the Mammoth would be interested in promoting such a game? Whether it be through working with Frontier to offer a special rate, chartering a Bus, or even just announcing it on the website and at the games that there will be an organized away game? I'm not sure how much interest there would be, but even if the Mammoth didn't provide any discounts but just promoted it, this wouldn't cost the Mammoth anything.

While the first road trip to AZ was a lot of fun (and I would totally do it again in a heartbeat), it did have one side effect.....we ended up pumping up their crowd and players. Just something to keep in mind.

Isn't that the point? Show the other city how loud and true our fan base is. We need to worry about the sport as well as our team. I think this could even spark interest in Portland. You know if we are coming strong Angela is going to try and get Portland to come in force. Win/Win for both cities IMO. And yes I will go.

Kinda sad though when three rows of Mammoth fans are louder than your whole arena. But it kind of makes you wonder if we would have won the last regular season game against Arizona if we wouldn't have gotten everyone else just as fired up as us. It's hard to say, but we definitely showed them how it's done in Denver. 8)

I would have been inspired as a fan and yelled my heart out. In Buffalo we got a ton of compliments on showing up. I think it helps make your fan base stronger. If you change 1 person into a bigger fan it is worth it. It will spread like a fever.

Buffalo would have been my second road trip. Others in my group went, by I was unable to make it. The AZ road trip was fun except for when the blizzard hit Colorado and we got stuck in Santa Fe. We definitely met some jerks in AZ, and we met some really cool people too. I'm sure the same could be said for the Championship game, or elsewhere. The benefit we have over everyone else though is that we typically get such large crowds that it would be a lot harder for a group of opposing fans to make the same difference here as we would and have elsewhere.

As you probably know, Steve (since we all know you read the wingszone boards), there's a lot of interest. We could really get a lot of people there if the Mammoth promoted this and possibly worked with frontier to get some sort of group discount. And God knows it would be some good publicity in the lacrosse media if there really was that huge of a crowd of fans at a regular season away game. What are your thoughts?

Anyone up for the possibility of a road trip this year? Could be fun to visit San Jose for the 2nd game of our barn to barn.

I was actually considering going to SJ this year with a $100 credit I have to use from Southwest soon. But looking towards next year, it looks like from this site and from wingszone, we have a large group who have already verbally committed to go to Portland.

The two trips are a year apart, why not do both? I'm giving the San Jose game serious thought. I like to do one road game each year, did Calgary 2 years ago, Buffalo for the championship last year. I know it' a bit early to say this, but if we keep on our current pace we'll have home field advantage throughout playoffs so I better plan on going to a regular season road game. San Jose is probably the most affordable. Would be great to see at least a couple other fans there.

At San Jose would be awesome. Unfortunately (well fortunately in all other aspects), my wife is set to give birth in April, so my privileges of going anywhere outside of a 5 mile radius of the house has been revoked! LOL
