'Course that being said, I think it was our first Mammoth game where the Attack and the Mammoth had a bench clearing brawl... and that was AWESOME!!!

Good god, I loved that brawl.

If I remember, Gait was close to breaking a scoring record and it was close to the end of the game and Albany had their goalie pulled. We caught them on a break away and our guy was hauling to the net, then slowed up to look for Gait so he could sink the easy point.
The Albany goalie was chugging back to the net and thought the forward was showing him up, so he clobbered him after the guy made the goal.

Brian Reese comes in and FLATTENS the goalie into the boards and begins pummeling the living p!ss out of the guy, at which point, all Hell breaks lose.

Mr, govett. do you happen to have a tape of the brawl? if so i would love to see it and if you could find time to put it on the internet and give us a link that would be great.

thanks,
jake

It would actually be great to have a video section on this website, including the big brawl, but also including highlights from all the games.

First off, I am not sure that we are particularly proud of that moment in Mammoth history. We do have the tape and incidently I just watched it last week.

We are continuning to explore the viability and the best possible way to present video on the website, whether we host it or a partner site is hosting. I am committed to having our games available somehow for podcasts, whether there is a subscription fee or not we are still exploring.

I think the conversation is still evolving but video clips of key moments in our history, which the Albany "brawl" is clearly one of, along with great memories and game entertainment elements from the past 5 seasons are all something that I want hosted so that people can download and view.

We will surely update everyone as we get closer to a conclusion on these items. Sorry for the delay.

If you notice on the Mammoth main site there is a link dedicated to Mammoth streaming video in the Fan Center portion of the website. I hope that this section grows to include multiple pieces in the future.

As in interesting side note, we just completed a weekly Mammoth meeting where this particular clip was discussed.

It has some relevance to this weekend because it was 5 years ago, the Albany Attack became the San Jose Stealth and non other than Bob McMahon was in his last head coaching job with the Attack.

We discussed the possiblity of using that clip in the pre game show for this Saturday's Altitude broadcast! Look for it Saturday night when you DVR the game!!

Posting memorable clips would be awesome! If this happens, be sure to include the video tribute to Gary Gait that was played before Gary's last game as a player in Pepsi Center. That tribute was very well done.

As a side note to the Albany Brawl, ... who can forget that the next morning was the meet & greet/autograph session with the players. Great timing. The players were still stoked - bruises, cuts, black eyes and all. Fantastic opportunity for the fans to see how tough these athletes truly are.

Finally getting around to watching the DVR of the game.

A bit of the Albany/Mammoth brawl made it into the pre-game stuff. They showed Blasdell hammering our guy, then, yeah, Reese comes in and beats the crap out of him. Then they cut a bit to the pile up and guys being dragged off each other.
