The Chance to Win the West

Game Preview

The Colorado Mammoth visits the SaskTel Centre on Saturday at 7:30pm MDT for Game Two of the West Division Finals against the Saskatchewan Rush. Through the first three quarters of Game One, the teams were neck-and-neck. Then the Rush pulled away.

“Learn from our mistakes, get better from it – offensively, defensively, transition, goalies, whatever it might be,” said defenseman Robert Hope. “Make sure everyone’s prepared for Saturday.”

The Mammoth needs to win Game Two to force a 10-minute Tie-Breaker Game (which would be played immediately after). At stake is a berth to the Champion’s Cup Finals and a meeting with either the Georgia Swarm or Toronto Rock.

“Our fate’s in our own hands,” said forward Callum Crawford. “Stick to the game-plan and believe in ourselves.”

In four regular-season games between the teams this year, both scored 41 goals. In the postseason, every play is magnified.

“It’s playoff lacrosse,” said coach Chris Gill. “You’re going to have to sell out every shift, and have to want it.”
