Mammoth Partners with ZimaGear
The Colorado Mammoth has announced a partnership with Florida-based ZimaGear, a sportswear designer, on the creation of helmet decals for the 2013 season. During the year, the Mammoth will don three unique patterns that will appear on the helmets of the team’s runners.
“The designs set us apart from all of the other teams in the National Lacrosse League,” said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett. “We’re honored to be ZimaGear’s first partner in professional lacrosse.”
Mammoth helmets will feature the iconic Rocky Mountains and the Mammoth tusk logo, just as the team’s jerseys do. The primary helmet design also incorporates intense, yet subtle imagery.
Colorado will wear commemorative helmet decals on Military Appreciation Night (Feb. 16) and the St. Patrick’s Day theme night (Mar. 16), both of which will be produced by ZimaGear.
“This is a small family business,” said ZimaGear owner Danny Dlugozima. “We have always been around lacrosse. I played and my sons played so it is very exciting to be connected to something this big.”
Dlugozima’s son, Tyler, created the decal templates for the team’s Reebok 11K helmets. Josh Turner, the senior graphic designer for Colorado Mammoth-owned Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, fashioned the look for all three stencils.
The team debuted the helmet decals on Opening Night this past Saturday at Pepsi Center.
