Mammoth Training Camp Opens Friday
The Colorado Mammoth announced today that team training camp for the 2013 NLL season opens on Friday. The Mammoth, which begins its 11th season in Denver in January, kicks off the preseason at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario.
“After a long off-season, we’re finally back on the floor,” said Mammoth head coach Bob Hamley. “The players, coaches and staff have had Friday night circled on their calendars for a long time.”
Colorado scrimmages the Minnesota Swarm on Saturday, December 1 in Ontario. The following weekend, the Mammoth heads to the Langley Events Centre (Langley, British Columbia).
“We’re eager to participate in a weekend-long lacrosse festivity in partnership with the events center,” said team president and general manager Steve Govett.
In addition to practice sessions and a ticketed preseason game against the Calgary Roughnecks, the Mammoth will also co-host a coaches’ chalk talk and player clinics. A game-jersey auction and more information about the special events can be found online at www.langleyeventscentre.com.
On Friday, December 14, the Mammoth comes home to Colorado for the third and final weekend of training camp. Saturday’s mid-day practice from 12:30pm – 2:30pm at Bladium Sports & Fitness Club (2400 Central Park Boulevard / Denver, CO 80238) is open to the public and free of charge.
