Thank You Fans
On behalf of the entire organization, thank you for your support this season as we celebrated ‘An Age of Mammoth Lacrosse’. Although the season ended earlier than we would have liked, the team made great strides. From 5-11 in 2011 to 11-5 this year, the team showed dramatic improvement. Our process for the off-season begins now and we will continue to add pieces to the puzzle.
This year, we witnessed the unimaginable as John Grant Jr. set the NLL’s single-season points record en route to being the oldest ever to win the league’s MVP award. Adam Jones was named the league’s top rookie, and more awards are sure to come. From Brian Langtry’s jersey retirement to the Mammoth All-Decade Team to ‘Lacrosse Out Cancer’ Night and the ‘I’m Playing For’ campaign, 2012 provided a lifetime of memories.
One-and-a-half weeks ago, our worlds were rocked by the news that Sean Pollock’s wife, Jenna, was diagnosed with breast cancer. The lacrosse world quickly mobilized and auction items and donations poured in. Thanks to your generosity at Saturday’s West Division Semifinal, we’ve already raised more than $10,000. We will continue to host online auctions in the coming weeks and months, as we look to raise even more.
While we’re in the business of winning games and entertaining fans, Jenna’s condition provides us with a real-life perspective about what’s truly important. That said, we’ll dedicate this off-season to her battle and to molding this team for a long playoff run for the 2013 season.
Thanks again for your passion on and off the floor, and for making Pepsi Center ‘The Loudest House in Lacrosse’!
