The Colorado Mammoth announced today that the team will host a silent auction at Saturday’s West Division Semifinal playoff game at Pepsi Center to raise money for Jenna Pollock (right), the wife of Mammoth forward Sean, who was diagnosed with breast cancer four days ago. The auction, which will be facilitated by Kroenke Sports Charities, will feature one-of-a-kind items donated by Sean’s teammates.

“My thoughts and prayers are with Sean, Jenna and the Pollock family during this trying time,” said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett. “Our team considers itself to be a family, and our whole family is hurting right now. Everyone within the organization is determined to do everything in our power to support Sean and Jenna.”

Forward John Grant Jr. has donated his game-worn 2012 National Lacrosse League All-Star Game jersey. Every player on the roster is donating to the auction, which will take place from the time doors open on Saturday (4:30pm MT) through the end of halftime at section 144 on the main concourse.

The game-ball from Grant’s record-breaking 116th point of the season, which he registered this past Saturday in Minnesota, will be placed in an online auction on eBay. The three-day auction for this piece of history begins tomorrow, and can be found by searching for keywords “John Grant Jr. 116”.

In mid-April, the Mammoth hosted its annual ‘Lacrosse Out Cancer’ Night to raise funds and awareness for local, non-profit cancer-related organizations with a mission of putting an end to the disease. On Saturday, the team aims to support the Pollocks in their battle.
