Mammoth Defeats Stealth in Washington

Training Camp Team Shot Dec 500

The Colorado Mammoth defeated the Washington Stealth, 15-9, on Sunday morning at Comcast Arena in Everett, Wash. to even its preseason record at 1-1. Paced by forward John Grant Jr.’s five goals, defenseman Rory Smith’s tally to put Colorado ahead, 8-7, with 2:59 remaining in the first half gave the Mammoth a lead it wouldn’t relinquish.

Rookie forward Jamie Lincoln recorded a hat trick. Forwards Gavin Prout, Mat MacLeod, Derek Hopcroft, transition players Jarett Park and Ilija Gajic, and defenseman Creighton Reid all recorded a goal apiece. Chris Levis and rookies Tye Belanger and Dan Lewis split time between the pipes.

The Colorado Mammoth opens the 2012 season against the Minnesota Swarm on “Brian Langtry Night” on Saturday, January 14 at 7pm MST on HealthONE Field at Pepsi Center. Single-game tickets are on sale now at the Pepsi Center box office, all Colorado Dick’s Sporting Goods retail kiosks, online at TicketHorse.com, or by calling 303.53.HORSE.
