‘PLAYING FOR’ GRANDMA ‘DIESEL’ AND ALL OTHERS AFFECTED BY BREAST CANCER
Anyone who has had a chance to ask Colorado Mammoth players Mat MacLeod or Adam Jones about Grandma “Diesel” has been in for a treat. The players’ grandmother, who is in her 80s, put on some goalie pads and let the players and their relatives shoot on her this past summer. She’s a tough woman…and a survivor!
“I’m playing to ‘Lacrosse Out’ Breast Cancer because it is one of the most prevalent cancers affecting many people each year, and there is also a history of it in my family. Grandma Diesel (Doris Kazarian) was diagnosed a few years ago and eventually beat it.”
Let’s help others like her beat it as well. MacLeod will wear a pink ribbon on his ‘Lacrosse Out’ Breast Cancer jersey on March 8 at Pepsi Center. That jersey is now in a 24-hour auction on eBay, which ends this Tue., Feb. 11 at 3pm MT. Click here or search keywords “Mammoth Lacrosse Out Cancer”.
Net proceeds benefit Barbells for Boobs, a non-profit organization that provides funding to pay for breast cancer detection services as a last resort for thousands of people who don't qualify for assistance elsewhere. Its aim is to help anyone that needs it, anywhere, whether they are male or female, no matter what their age or situation in life.
