GRANT'S WISH: TO 'LACROSSE OUT' BRAIN CANCER
Colorado Mammoth forward and two-time MVP John Grant Jr. has played 14 seasons in the National Lacrosse League. On March 8, the Denver resident will play in his 198th regular-season game. It might be the most meaningful of his career.
“My aunt is currently battling brain cancer,” said the man with 579 career goals. “On ‘Lacrosse Out Cancer' Night, my support of her fight against the disease will be front and center.”
Grant’s jersey will feature a gray-colored ribbon on his chest. That jersey is now in a one-day auction on eBay, with proceeds benefiting the Colorado Neurological Institute, a non-profit neuroscience organization.
