KONECZNY'S JERSEY HONORS HIS CLOSEST RELATIVES
Colorado defenseman Chet Koneczny has Saturday, March 8 circled on his calendar. It’s the Mammoth’s annual ‘Lacrosse Out Cancer’ Night. And while the 29-year-old believes that “all cancer types deserve equal respect and attention”, he chose one that honors his closest relatives.
“Both my Mom and Nana had breast cancer,” said Koneczny.
Thus, his jersey will feature a pink ribbon. The threads are now in a 24-hour auction on eBay which ends this Wed., Feb. 19 at 3:30pm MT. Click here or search keywords “Mammoth Lacrosse Out Cancer”.
Net proceeds benefit Barbells for Boobs, a non-profit organization that provides funding to pay for breast cancer detection services as a last resort for thousands of people who don't qualify for assistance elsewhere. Its aim is to help anyone that needs it, anywhere, whether they are male or female, no matter what their age or situation in life.
