Steve,
Can you give any insight as to why the board/league decided not to have a All Star game? Was it strictly cost, or lack of sponsership and TV too?
However, I do like the slightly more compressed schedule.
Can't wait to see who the Mammoth draft.
Thanks _________________ I'm a great listener... Just ask the TV. |

The NLL had explored the opportunity of doing the All Star game on the weekend of March 6th, unfortunately the financial obligations to host the game have started to outweigh the profitiablity of hosting the game. It is a tremendous amount of work and detracts from a team's dedication to the regular season's business efforts.
Bottom line is... the costs outweigh the revenue, not many teams are interested in losing money and taking away from the efforts for their 8 home games.
Dissappointing but necessary, hopefully one day the game returns.

| I know that the ASG has floundered in cities before, such as Edmonton. How did the Mammoth organization end up financially after the festivities last year? Were we like most other teams and fail to break even? |

The Colorado Mammoth was able to make the game in Denver profitable last season but the amount of effort for the return made it difficult to bid on it again for this season. Also, there was a shortage of dates in the Pepsi Center at the time that the League would have liked to host it.
Our focus on this season will be our preseason game on Dec. 18, our eight home games and three playoff games at home!!!

| Thanks for response. I thought the Mammoth did a great job with the entire weekend of events last year. Hopefully the ASG is revived next season. |
